Obituary for Marveen A. Feil
She was born June 7, 1934, to Paul and Wilhelmine (Hein) Meiners on the Meiners’ home farm on State Line Road Eitzen, MN. She was a lifelong member of the St. Luke's Church in Eitzen where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended grade school in Eitzen and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1952. On December 12, 1958, she married Leon Feil at St. Luke's Church. After living in Eitzen for a year, they moved to the Feil Family Farm on Cabbage Ridge, north of Eitzen. They were blessed with three children, Debra, Konalee, and Daren. After 60 years of marriage, Leon passed away on January 17, 2019.
Marveen was an active member at St. Luke's Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and serving as president of the Women's Fellowship. She worked at Mansfield in Spring Grove for many years. She and Leon were 4-H leaders, belonged to the couple's club and several card clubs. They were members of the Houston County Historical Society and were the caretakers of the Eitzen Museum.
She had many hobbies including embroidery, flower gardening, scrapbooking, and quilting. Marveen and Leon enjoyed traveling; they took many bus trips around the United States and Mexico, with a special trip to Germany for their 25th wedding anniversary.
Marveen is survived by her daughters: Debra (Doyle) Gilbertson and their children, Aaron, Jessie (Bill Ross) and their son, Chase, Crystal (Levi Ketchum) and their children, Pearl and Aksel; and Konalee (Robert) Klinski and their daughter, Hannah (Mike Buck); her son, Daren (Barb) Feil; sister-in-law, Marlene Meiners; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Wilhelmine Meiners and Walter and Beata Feil; a brother, Clifford (died in infancy); sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Roy Renk; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Lorna Mae Meiners; brother, Rodney Meiners; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Warren Nuttle; brother and sister-in-law, Arlin and Ruby Feil; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and David Lorenzana; nephew, Steven Lorenzana; niece, Claudia Richardson; and nephew, Raymond Renk.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 6, 2024, at St. Luke’s Church in Eitzen. Rev. Michael D. McCann will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service, Friday, at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
