Obituary for Arlen Wang

Arlen was born on February 2, 1936, to Andrew and Beatrice Wang, of La Crosse, WI.

Arlen was raised in La Crosse and Onalaska, WI. He spent a lot of his time hunting, fishing and trapping as a youngster with his family.

After graduating from Onalaska High School, he joined the US Army where he was a Nike-Ajax missile man and a sharp shooter, earning the Good Conduct Medal. While on leave in 1958, Arlen met his future wife, Marion. They were married on April 11, 1959. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1959, Arlen went to work for the 3M Company until his retirement.

Arlen is survived by his sons, Mark (Jane) Wang and Bruce Wang; grandchildren; Stephanie Wang, Stacy (Bryant) Nemec, Jake (Alexis) Wang, Nicholas Wang, Andy Wang, Matt Wang, Jared Wang, Alicia (Ryan) Heise, and Abby (Joe) Fink; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Elly and James Nemec, Lucas and Aubrey Wang, Vivienne Heise, Stella and Letty Wang.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marion and son, Scott G. Wang.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m., until 3:00 p.m., on June 21, 2025, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. To honor Arlen’s service to our country, military honors will be rendered at 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home, by the United States Army Funeral Honor Guard.
