Obituary for Marian J. Meinert

She was born October 26, 1930, in La Crosse to Edgar H. and Irma (Bishofsky) Zenker. Marian was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in La Crosse. On November 29, 1958, she married Donald J. "Chick" Meinert at First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2000. Marian served as a volunteer in several capacities for many organizations over the years such as the voting poll locations in La Crosse and for the public library as well as the library at Emerson Elementary School. She was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse.

She is survived by her son, Jim Meinert of La Crosse.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Rev. J. Taylor Haley will officiate. A private burial will be prior to the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
