Obituary for Richard H. Pengra

He is survived by his wife, Grace (Clemment), whom he married on September 20, 1958; his children, Jennifer, Donald, Elizabeth Stoll (Rich), and Rebeccah Alexander (Jeff); grandchildren, Rachael, Jami, Sam, Michelle, Emily, Molly, Ben, and Cooper; great-grandchildren, Turner and Garrett; sisters, Harriet and Carol; and step-sister, Lou Ann.

Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother; his brothers, Oren Jr., and Robert; his twin sister, Dorothy; his sister, Faira; his uncle Lester; and his aunt, Evelyn.

As a veteran of the United States Air Force, Richard served with pride, in Korea, and he continued to carry a deep love for country and flag for the remainder of his life. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 52, loved golfing, bird watching from his backyard, and square dancing with the La Crosse “Happy Twirlers”.

A memorial service for Richard will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Road in La Crosse, on Saturday, November 22, with a visitation beginning at 10:00, and the funeral at 11:00 with lunch to follow.

To honor Richard’s service to our country, military honors will be rendered, following the memorial service, by the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52 of La Crosse and the United States Air Force Funeral Honor Guard. He will be missed and is leaving a void hard to fill.
