Obituary for Eileen M. Paisley

Eileen M. Paisley, 85, of Mindoro, passed away December 30, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

She was born April 17, 1940, in La Crosse, to Eldred and Marie (Hulberg) Anderson. Eileen was raised in Holmen and proudly graduated as the salutatorian of her class in 1958. Following her graduation, Eileen enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she majored in English education. However, after just one year, she met Dougland 'Doug' Paisley, and the two were married on April 2, 1960, at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church in Holmen. They then moved to Burlington, Wis., while Doug was employed at American Motors. In March of 1961, they moved back to Mindoro and opened Paisley Mobil Service. In the early 1970’s, Doug and Eileen, along with their dear friend Bruce Olson, started Paisley Trucking. Both companies still operate today.

Eileen was a dedicated member of the Mindoro community, playing a key role in organizing events like the Miss Mindoro pageant and the Spanferkel parade, among many other contributions.

Eileen had a passion for golfing, even teaching her grandkids the game. She remained active in golfing until September of this year. She also loved traveling with her husband, visiting places like Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, the East and West Coasts, and many other destinations.

Eileen was the heart and soul of the family, the glue that held everyone together. To her, family was everything — always the most important part of her life. Her absence leaves a deep void, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her two sons, Richard “Rick” (LaRae) Paisley and Steven “Steve” (Sandra) Paisley; seven grandchildren, Jordan (Kyle) Krizan, Jesse Paisley (Morgan), Nichole (Tim) Bielefeldt, Crystal (Brian) Knoll, Rebecca (Jake) Arneson, Amanda Johnson, and Anthony (Anita) Paisley; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Karla) Anderson; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldred and Marie; her beloved husband, Doug; and brother, Eugene Anderson.

A private graveside service will be held on a later date in Farmington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to be made in Eileen’s honor to the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.
