Obituary for Lois M. Prater

December 20, 1920 – January 25, 2026

Lois Prater passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 105. Born in Marathon, Wisconsin, to Emil and Viola Vollenweider, Lois grew up as one of four sisters. In 1941, she married Robert Prater in Chicago, and together they raised two children, Penny and Robert.

Known for her tireless energy and work ethic, Lois found her greatest joys in her family and the beauty of nature. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Most of all, Lois loved her God, Jehovah. Since dedicating her life to Him in 1954, she spent over 70 years sharing the Bible’s promises with others. She held close to the hope found in Revelation 21:3, 4, looking forward to the day when "death will be no more." Her family eagerly awaits the time when we will see her again in the promised resurrection (Acts 24:15). Memorial Service:
