Obituary for Carmen M. Martinez

She was born July 6, 1939, in Puerto Rico, to Arthur and Carmen (Cardona) Quinones. On January 26, 1957, she married Neptali Martinez. Together they enjoyed traveling to various places such as New York, Florida, and Texas, and their occasional trips to one of the casinos. On November 3, 2015, Neptali preceded Carmen in death.

Carmen enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and watching soap operas. Days Of Our Lives was her favorite. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children, Diana Loso of Jacksonville, Fla., and Anthony and Nicholas Martinez, both of La Crosse; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joseph (Daisy) Quinones of Staten Island, N.Y.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her sister, Millie (Bob) Wright and her brother, Pedro (Blanca) Quinones.

A Catholic Prayer Service will be at 12 noon, Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Entombment will follow in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
