Obituary for Priscilla (Hanson) Achterkirch

She was born May 25, 1942, in La Crosse to Harry and Alta (Jostad) Hanson. She graduated from Holmen High School in 1960 and continued her education at Western Wisconsin Technical College. On October 23, 1971, Priscilla married Archie Achterkirch at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church in Holmen.

Priscilla worked at Outers Laboratories and retired from ATK in 2005. She enjoyed gardening and always looked forward to Friday rummage sales. A faithful member of Halfway Creek Church, Priscilla gave her time by helping with church dinners and participating in the church quilting group.

She is survived by Archie, her husband of 54 years; brother, Curtis Hanson; and sister-in-law, Peg Hanson.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents; mother–in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Bill Achterkirch; brother, Solon Hanson; and sister-in-law, Nancy Hanson.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church, W6016 County Road W, Holmen. Synod Authorized Minister Patti Happel and Pastor Carol Garman will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service, Friday, both at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church, Holmen.
